iPhone 4.0 Unlock is now available!

Unlocking iPhone Four is usually a very painful process and may become more costly for you than you think. When I purchased my first iPhone in 2008, I ended up to unlocking it several times so that I could install the latest Apple patches. The applications that allow you to jailbreak and unlock iPhone weren’t very user friendly back in the days. Hackers have certainly improved their UI but one might still face a lot of issues while performing a unlock on an iPhone. I can’t even remember how many times I’ve lost important information because I had to go through this painful process over and over again. Was it really worth my time?

I’ve purchased my first iPhone in the US because Apple was not selling it in my home country. I am sure that I had to go through this unlocking operation somewhere around 30 or 40 times. I can’t really recall but I do remember that I ended up reading a lot of forums. Apple started to sell iPhone through network operators in my home country couple months ago. Unfortunately, many people who were interested in this device were not happy with the prices. They said that it was too expensive for a cell phone. Now that I moved to the states, people keep asking me to bring an iPhone whenever I travel back. This keeps me one wondering one thing: Do you know how much money you are actually losing while you are trying to get your iPhone unlocked with some unstable hacking tools?

I am computer engineer and I have been programming for some time now. I have generally a good understanding of the techniques discussed in unlocking an iPhone. I love to play with these things and waste my precious time. This makes me wonder about people with less technical knowledge. I can see that for many people this unlocking process can be very painful. In fact, even for me it started to become so annoying that I had to stop myself and get a AT&T contract. The unlocking tools like Pwnage or Redsnow are really wonderful but, sometimes, unexplainable things do happen to your phone. You start to become frustrated and dig million forums to figure out what’s wrong. I’ve probably spent at least 30 hours in total for this unlocking process. If I were to work in a coffee shop and make like $10.00 per hour than this would mean I’ve lost $300 for this painful process. Now, try to substitute your hourly wage and time you would spend on this. Does it make sense to you?

However, people don’t really care and they go to eBay to purchase iPhones for prices ranging from $550-$800. Sometimes even more when a new model like iPhone Four comes up! These so called unlocked phones do not necessarily mean they are unlocked forever. It’s broken only once. So when you buy it and Apple releases a patch then you probably want to unlock it again. Therefore, often times people with less technical knowledge end up paying for a technical guy to get their devices fixed each time they had to do an upgrade. This is really madness! What’s the benefit in doing this? If you add up all the costs associated to get your iPhone running it will be probably be more expensive than you purchasing a new one.

Now that the iPhone Four is released, people are again desperately waiting for a cheap way to unlock their phones. I’ve found a real one that works perfectly and it does not require you to wait for some “hackers” who will one day come up with a unstable solution.
